Twins are Awesome!

This video makes me want to have twins.  Really, is there a video featuring twin siblings that isn't just the cutest?

Never!!

These cuties are just the sweetest mini people!  I want to freeze them have them as my own when we are ready for little one.

Too Far?

Perhaps.

Enjoy...

My Wall of Instagrams

The hubby and I have lived in our apartment for sometime now and we had this big blank wall that I could not decide what I wanted to do with it.  Then I had the idea to print off my Instagram pictures and display them in some sort of way.  I had the vision, but didn't know how I was going to execute it.

BEFORE:

Then I spotted these gems at The Container Store when running some errands with my mom.

I purchased 3 and they ended up being the perfect size for our lonely wall.

After much deliberation of their exact location, the hubby and I were able to get them right where we wanted them.  We were able to do so by using pencils to mark where we wanted them, along with a handy level to assure they were  straight.

AFTER:

Here is the finished product!  I love the way it turned out.

I found the mini clothespins at Michael's.

I had my pictures printed off using the app Postal Pix.  I chose the 4x4 size.

I'm not exactly the kind of girl that needs everything to be perfect, so I don't mind that these are not perfectly aligned.  So far, there are 31 pictures pinned to the wall.

I actually prefer it that way.

Now, I can't wait to take more pictures to add to my wall.

The Septmeber Issue

It's almost fall and now all the September issues of our favorite fashion magazines have filled our mailboxes.  Literally, this month's Vogue's size has been causing headaches for mailmen across the country.  If you are only going to buy one magazine issue a year, the September issue is it!

I highlight some of this month's covers:

Miley Cyrus after she announced her engagement

Victoria Beckham isn't ruling out a 5th child

Where has Gwen been?

Single Katy!

Eva Longoria

Lady Gaga

J-Lo

Sofia decided it was time to share her bra size in this issue

Which is your favorite cover?

It's so hard to choose all these cover girls look so gorgeous!

Two Years of Bliss

Two years ago, I married my best friend.

When I reflect on these past two years, I know that God really played a part in our relationship.  The hubby and I make great partners, buddies and supporters of each other.  God has graced me with the most patient, kind and generous man.  I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else.
I'm lucky that this man puts up with me and all my craziness.

I know this man was tailor made just for me and that increases my faith and trust in God.  He really does have a hand our life and we are just two little people in this huge world and yet He still knows us and loves us!

Reflections from the wedding day...

This was one of my favorite pictures.

I painted on this record, because I did that for our engagement photos.

I came up with the idea because when the hubby proposed, I was wearing a necklace with a pair of Buddy Holly glasses on it.  Somehow, I linked the necklace, I was wearing with records, and thought I should paint them and they could look great in our engagements photos.

These pictures turned out exactly how I wanted them to.

Instead of a wedding cake, we opted to have a dessert table.  I love sweets, so leave it to me to offer a wide variety of desserts at my wedding.

I loved my long veil, blue shoes and bouquet.

The favorite part of our wedding, and most nerve wrecking for the hubby, had to be our first dance.  The hubby is not exactly a dancer and we surprised everyone with this little number.

We chose the song by Bjork called, It's Oh So Quite.

My wedding and engagement pictures were shot by Brittany Strebeck.

Compliment of a Lifetime

One of the highlights of my life happened this morning!  I was at the cafe at work and one of my coworkers told me that they thought I looked like....

Wait for it......

Kate Middleton!

I totally have a girl crush on the Middleton sisters, like you wouldn't believe.  When I was in my best friend's wedding last summer I was known for stating, WWPE, What Would Pippa Eat?  I wanted to rock her body at this wedding.

So when my friend, told me I looked like Catherine Middleton, I just about died.

I honestly, don't think I resemble the princess, but it did in fact make my day!

Spice Up Your Life

I was glued to the television for the Olympic Closing Ceremony last night, mainly because I was excited to see the Spice Girls reunion.

I have been glued to the Olympics every night, so much so, I don't know what I am going to watch anymore.  Nothing will be as suspenseful and keeping me on the edge of my seat.

But all good things must come to an end...

And that is where this scene comes into play:

Photo from People.com

I loved the mobile billboard ads of the greatest English models rolling around the arena with David Bowie's, 'Fashion' blaring from the speakers.  Then the ads were stripped off  the billboards and there the models were, fabulous as ever.  Their portion of the show was completed with a stellar walk down the runway.

Back to the reason I was pumped for the Closing Ceremonies... The Spice Girls!!

They all looked great!  I love that they kept to their Spicey selves and dressed in their former personas along with their personal taxis that escorted them to center stage.  They then sang every girl from my generation's favorite song to sing in the mirror and with her friends, "Wannabe."  Then the Spices rode on top of their taxis singing one of my favorites, "Spice up your life."

Sorry for the poor quality, but NBC makes it near impossible to share their videos.  Enjoy a better video on their website.

What was your favorite part of the Closing Ceremonies?

Week of Beauty

I had a friend staying with me during her transition to her new place and with the husband away, these girls will play!

We decided that we were going to put our pins to use.  I am guilty of pinning and pinning on Pintrest and never executing any of the fabulous ideas.

So, together we decided that we would make some of our favorite beauty pins come to reality. We decided to try out a new 'mask' every night of the week.

Exfoliating Mask

This is an exfoliating mask that requires for you run a tablespoon or two of oats through the food processor and then combine with an egg white.

Then you wind up sporting this look!
We left this mixture on for 20 minutes and it might have been too long.  It was almost painful to take off.  Our skin looked great but I think 10-15 minutes would be sufficient.

Moisturizing Hair Mask

Combine an avocado, 1 egg and 1-2 tsp of lemon juice.

If you can, leave this in the fridge for a couple of hours, the lemon juice should prevent the avocado from turning brown.

With towel dried hair, work the mask into your hair, root to tip.  We left this on our hair for 20 minutes and then shampooed and conditioned, like we normally would.

The next day I wore my hair curly without any product and I could see a huge improvement with hair.  I had less frizz and my hair was so soft.  I will definitely be doing this again.

Lemon Honey Mask

This "mask" is something you can try to use every night, well according to Pinterest.  I have yet to try it again.

Combine fresh lemon juice with 1/2 teaspoon of raw honey. After washing your face, massage this mixture on your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse off with cold water.

My skin looked incredible after this!

The Aspirin Mask!

This mask, might have been my favorite because it was just so dang easy.

I took the three pieces of Aspirin and added a little water, let it dissolve in my hand, which doesn't take but a couple of seconds. Then dampen your face and apply the Aspirin mush.  Remove with a damp wash cloth after 10 minutes.

There were several pins that mentioned adding honey as a moisturizing agent.  I will try that the next time, but I will be sure to combine those in a bowl instead of my hand.

 Microdermabrasion mask

This is another simple mask.

Mix three tablespoons of Baking Soda and one tablespoon and apply to a damp face.

Rub in a circular motion and then leave for on your skin for 10 minutes.

At the end of the week, I thought to myself, my skin is either going to break out like crazy or look AMAZING!

I'm thankful it was the latter.

I would do all of these again!  They are so easy to do, the items I used were already in my kitchen.

Let me know if you try any of these and tell me what you think of them.

Ba-na-na-s

Oh... My... God...

I literally died, when I saw Rachel Zoe's newest business venture, her jewelry line.

After being devoted to her Bravo series, I became almost as equally obsessed with her personal jewelry collection as I was about the Taylor/ Brad/ Jeremiah drama.  She is so organized with all her accessories but she seems to be particularly proud of her jewels.  And rightfully so, she has enough pieces to open her own store or two... or three.

Rachel's line is available at Neiman Marcus and the prices range from $140- $650.  The pieces are gold with green, black and red accents with of coarse, some added bling.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces:

Square Ring $165
14-karat yellow gold
 Green quartz cabochon
 Swarovski® crystals.
Black enamel

Domed Deco Bracelet- $420
14-karat yellow gold
 Swarovski® crystals
Black quartz

Long Tassle-End Necklace $650
14-karat yellow gold plate
White Swarovski® crystals
 Black enamel
 Curb-chain fringe tassel ends

Deco Crystal Cuff- $495
14-karat yellow gold
 Black and white enamel
Swarovski® crystals

Rhinestone Tassel Drop Earrings- $265
14-karat yellow gold
Black cabochon and pave crystal rhinestone
Black enamel and clear rectangular-cut crystals

To check out the whole collection click here.

I love all the tassels in her collection.  If I were to buy any of these pieces, I think I would be the most drown to those in particular.

Do you have a favorite piece in this collection?

New Girl's New Season

One of my favorite shows this past year, was New Girl.  It was the highlight of my week.  No matter how much I had going on, I never missed an episode.

But that doesn't begin to show my utter devotion to the show.

It is the kind of show that sticks with you throughout the next day.  I would be at work giggling like a school girl when a scene from the previous night's episode would run through my mind.

If you haven't watched this show, you are missing out on a simply hilarious comedy.

I was/am obsessed with this cast.  This picture does a great job displaying all of the characters' personalities.

Here is a sampling of the upcoming season:

This show airs the same day the Mumford and Sons record will be released.

This house will be a very happy house that day!

Mid-Week Music Break

I though I would post old school Lenny Kravitz's song, 'American Woman' in honor of our Fabulous Five bring home gold for this week's Music Break...

I mean, who doesn't love Gabby Douglas?  Did you hear her give God the credit for all her successes?

"God has given me this awesome talent to represent Him. Glory goes up to Him, and the blessings fall down on us."

She is only 16!  She is beyond her years in attitude and faith.

I really just wanted to give the girl a shout out on my blog!!

Get it girl!!

The new Mumford and Sons album is highly anticipated in my household.  Yesterday, the new single was officially released!  I had to bump the old idea for this one for my husband's excitement alone.  I know he is going to be pumped when he sees this and nothing makes me happier then to see him excited!

Enjoy the new single, I will wait.

FLASHBACK...

See the look in the hubby's eyes... This was right before we saw Mumford and Sons at Memphis in May in 2011.  We made our way towards the front of the stage to get as close as the good Lord would let us!

Look, it is Marcus Mumford!

Side note: We saw Jake Gyllenhaal on the side of the stage during this performance, but I couldn't get a clear photo of him.

My Own Rewards

So recently, I made my own reward system.

I wanted to reward myself for keeping up with my training for the marathon along with eating well. Because when it's all said and done, I'm the only one accountable for my goals for a healthy lifestyle.

I love lists!  I get such a kick out of crossing a task off a list!  This is the next best thing for me!

This is the rewards board:

I have this posted on my fridge so I will see it often.

I decided that for every 5 workout classes I attend I can get a Starbucks.
This is so hard because there is a Starbucks at work and it is a constant temptation to walk up the stairs and get a coffee whenever I am lagging in the morning.

For every 14 days that I eat healthy, and I go by the standards of The Whole9 I will get a cheat meal along with a new CD.  I think avoiding everyday temptations deserves two prizes!

For every 20 Miles I run:  I will decide on a prize and for my first 20 miles, I want to get a mani/pedi.  The next 20, I was thinking about eyelash extensions for my next trip.

Have you tried eyelash extensions?

For every 50 miles:  I want to get a massage or a facial.  This is something that I never indulge in and after hitting the pavement for 50 miles, I think I can treat myself to some pampering.

Right now, it's averaging in the 100's in Dallas so I have been trying to get in the habit of waking up at 5:30ish am to get the those miles in before the sun comes up.  It's been a rough week, let me tell you!!

How do you keep up with your personal goals?

You are my Sunshine

So when I bought this tunic, it was supposed to be a dress.  I can't imagine wearing this as a dress!  I just don't like my legs enough to show that much of  them to the world.  I would feel too self conscious.

I am a big fan of the herringbone print!  I wish it was as prominent as the ever present chevron print.

Which print do you prefer?
