July BirchBox

I loved my July BirchBox!  This time Glamour was the contributing company to help pick out this month's goodies.  This has been one of my favorite boxes that I have received to date.

Join Birchbox and get fun samples every month!

Here is a list of my goods.

I have tried this mixed with my foundation, but I thought my face looked shiny.  I am weird about that though, the last thing I want is my face to look shiny.  I tried it on my cheeks last night and liked it much better.

These are awesome and I don't even know the brand!  I said on my last post that I am training for a marathon and these have yet to slip out of my ears while I'm running.

This is not my cup of tea.  Haha  These are tea mints that are ginger tea flavored and I am not a ginger flavored fan.

This mascara is revolutionary!  This is the easiest mascara I have ever removed from my eyelashes.  You simply splash some water on your eyes and the mascara peels off.  The look of the mascara is more natural then dramatic.

Though I like Oscar de la Renta as a designer, I can't say that I am an admirer of his fragrance.  It smells like it was mixed for an older audience.  It's a lot more floral then my nose prefers.

I always love a nude lip gloss!

All the goodies, all together

It's Been A While

So I realize that it has been a while since I posted an outfit.  I have been running, literally running, all the time because I am training for the Dallas Marathon!  I have been hesitant to post that because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it.  So far, so good.  I am trying to keep a balance of workouts as well as yoga and boot camp classes.  But if you have any advice, please feel free to share it with me.  The hubby thinks I'm crazy, but I want to cross something else off the good ol' bucket list and I figure now is a good time as any.

The earrings are from JewelMint and they are called the Steampunk.  They are currently sold out but you can put your self on the wait list and they will let you know when they are available again.

July JewelMint

I love JewelMint for those who don't know.  I get so happy when I see that package in the mail!

Because last month was No Shop June,  I skipped that month's jewels.   I think that made July's so much more special!

I chose to receive the Steampunk Earring because I don't have many hoop earrings and those are always a must to have in your jewelry box.  These are a little more special with the gunmetal and gold.

Loved them!

I got lots of compliments on these two toned hoops, so you can expect to be seeing these again and again.

Tell What You Think?

If you are like me, then you too were glued to the TV every Monday night wasting away and watching the Bachelorette.

Now that we have had a couple of days to chew on it...  Tell me how you really feel about the outcome.

I just want to open up my blog to Comments, Thought, Questions and Concerns about Jef (with one "F") and Emily.  Do you think they will make it?  Is their love real?

Six Year Celebration!

A while back, I posted that my hubby and I celebrated six years together.  Sadly, he was gone so we had to wait to celebrate.  When he came back, The Hubby told me that we would celebrate on Friday and said I would love it.  I am still shocked that I didn't dig for more information.  Usually, when a surprise is presented to me by The Hubby, I push for more information until he cracks and I ALWAYS regret it.  This time, I didn't and I was so surprised and loved it!!

Back when my hubby and I were dating we each listed the bands we would love to see live and Rascal Flatts was one of mine.

Well, the hubby remembered!!

I was told to wear shorts and was so thankful that he told me that because it was hot!

Pre concert, we shared the guitar shaped margarita

Thompson Square opened...

Along with Little Big Town

We anxiously awaited for the main act!
Ok, so maybe I was more anxious then he was.

Then came the Rascals!!

We were so hot but loving the show!

Dear Hubby- Thank you for such a memorable night!  I know you don't like country music but thank you for being so sweet and standing right beside me.  Thanks for supporting all my interests!  You make me feel more loved everyday.  I am so lucky to have had you in my life for these past six years.

Eat and Shop NYC Style...

I love one of a kind, hole in the whole restaurants.  One of my favorite things to do when I am traveling is to find when the locals eat.  One of my favorite things to do any time, is finding a good place to eat and eating their specialty.  My sister raved about this place in Brooklyn, called Pie N Thighs and rightfully so, it was delicious!

The front of the restaurant

My mimosa was served in a kiddie cup.

Delish!

My sister and I went shopping in SOHO and came across this gem!  We almost walked right pasted it.
Fonda Nolita is a fantastic little taco joint and that is saying something, coming from a girl from Texas.  I tried the fish taco and bean and cheese taco.  The fish taco was one of the best I've had.

This brings food truck to a whole new meaning!  This old VW van is now where your tacos are made! This was the my favorite part about the restaurant.

On Sunday, there is a Brooklyn Flee Market and I was pumped to go!

This was my favorite part!  I loved People's Pops.

I tried the Peach Mint flavor!

Brandy Melville was fun shop and I loved it!

This was the Converse store's display.  It was absolutely amazing!
I got my husband a pair of new kicks because I couldn't resist.
If you go to New York, this should be a must stop if you love Converse and you can check out their Customizing Station and make yourself a one of a kind pair.

This is a jewelry store I discovered the last time I visited my sister, and I found a ring that I now wear everyday.  There are so many arrays jewelry in the store, something to suit everyone's taste.

I can't get enough of this city!!

I'll be back as soon as I can, NYC!

NYC in July

So I am desperately trying to play catch up on my blog so please forgive me.

For the 4th of July I went visit my sister again in NYC and stayed all weekend.

While hubby is away, this girl will play!!

Our crazy view from a rooftop in Brooklyn.

My sister had to work so I spent the day doing whatever I wanted.

I first walked around Bryant Park.

I went to the New York City Library just to see the Gutenberg Bible, the one of the oldest printed book.  It was not on display the last time I went with my friend, Leigh.  This book was printed around 1450.  My goodness, it's in perfect condition!!

I took a quick stroll in St. Patrick's Cathedral.

I think I am happiest in Central Park!

I visited the MOMA and saw some of the most famous pieces of art.  Here are a couple of pieces that I enjoyed experiencing in person.

This was a Picasso.

Salvador DalΓ

Andy Warhol

Frida Kahlo

Claude Monet

Van Gogh

Another, Andy Warhol
