They Fit!!

Ok so, I'm so excited about this outfit for one reason!  My little sister gave me these pants for Christmas and they didn't fit.  They wouldn't button.  Depressing, right?  Yes!  But now they fit!  I have been pushing myself so hard with my workouts and completely changed my eating habits.  It didn't happen over night, by any means.  Clearly, it's May!  Work hard and eat right, boring sounding, but so true!

Top: Urban Outfitters
Pants: Michael Kors
Shoes: Anthropologie

This girl loves red shoes!  I think the red was a little unexpected and that's why I love them!

Short in the Front...

Today has been a relaxing day!  Thankful for that!  I finally have a night when I'm not running after work to meet friends or working out and running errands.  I can finally dig back into that Catching Fire book I've been meaning to finish.

I might have laundry hanging up drying around the house, but at least I go some things crossed off that good ol' to do list.

Top: Vintage
Skirt: LC Lauren Conrad from Khol's
Shoes: Target

Belt: Fossil

I love this belt so much, I thought it deserved a closer look!

Let me please tell you about where I got my shirt...

If you are ever in the Dallas area, you have to check out the VINTAGE MOBILE!  My little sister and I went exploring for my some fun vintage finds and was completely satisfied when we ran across the green school bus.

Lil Sis at Vintage Mobile

To find out where they will be next check out their blog.  Good News!  This weekend they will be at Oddfellows in Oak Cliff from 9-3.  That is my husband and my favorite brunch spots in Dallas.  Please visit this bus!

One of my favorite jewelry designers has to be Kendra Scott.  A fellow Texan, opened up her store in Dallas a couple of months ago and I can't stop myself from going in and playing when I'm at The West Village.  These are some of my favorite earrings and they go with everything.  You can get the Peacock earrings in one of three colors here.  Right now she is offering Free Shipping!!  Wahoo!  Just in time for Mother's Day!

May Day Conviction

I found this app that totally made me turn a 180 yesterday.

It's called Jesus Calling.  It features a daily devotional by Sarah Young.  Sarah was a missionary who journaled during her quiet times and was blessed to be able to turn her journaling thoughts to devotionals to share with people around the world.

The quotes from Sarah Young that changed my day

I had been having a rough week feeling sorry for myself for no good reason.  I am missing my husband tremendously, but I was reminded to be thankful that I am blessed to have a man in my life that really loves me and unconditionally at that.  Through some other circumstances that have been going on in some of my friends' lives, I have realized I should be finding my strength in Him during my 'rough patch.'  Times might seem tough to me but I have some friends going through a lot harder things and I really have no right to complain or mope around.  Maybe things aren't going my way because He wants me to be more relent on HIM.  And honestly, I have been struggling with that lately.  "Living in dependence on me is the way to enjoy an abundant life," was exactly what I needed to hear.

This app is great!  I got the free "lite" edition to test it out and decide if I would like to buy it and after the first devotional hit so close to my heart, I am totally purchasing it.

One great thing about the app is the fact that you can set a timer so when things are getting crazy and you  are busier then you expected to be, it will remind you to put everything down and spend some time with the Lord, pray and read His Word.

Here is the Jesus Calling app's website.  You should add this to your Iphone, IPad, Nook or Kindle.

I truly believe you won't regret it.

Chain Chain Chain

Happy Wednesday!

The weekend is so close I can smell it!

Today I wore one of my favorite pieces I have added to my wardrobe.  I can't get enough of kimonos inspired cardigans.  They are perfect for the summer.

Tank: Target
Kimono: Forever 21
Jeans: James Jeans (my favorite!)
Booties: Urban Outfitters

Loving my JewelMint with my watch!

This necklace was a great purchase from a boutique!  It's a great mix of gold, silver and black chains.

I bought these earrings at an Etsy Dallas fair!  I was in Heaven!
These are actually imprinted from railroad nails.  The numbers actually indicate the year they were made.  That means mine are copied from nails from 1922 and 1923.
I had to get these earrings when I saw these particular numbers because they were my husbands and my basketball numbers!
You can get the earrings here.  Be sure to check out more from Green Couch Design.

Do you have a favorite Etsy purchase?  Do share!!

Mid-Week Music

Rough week!  You too?

So I love The Voice and last year my number one was the number two, Dia Frampton.  Her voice is unlike anyone else's.  This song, Don't Kick the Chair is a great song to listen to when you are upset because its upbeat and can turn your attitude all around.

I was dancing to this all morning getting ready for work!

Enjoy!

Off the Beaten Path

So my hubby and I just finished the Whole 30 so I'm feeling so energized and ready to wear dresses and skirts all summer long!  I will keep eating this way because I love the way I feel!  If you haven't heard about it, read about it here.

I was addicted to sweets like you wouldn't believe.  Honestly, I felt like dessert is something you could have after every meal.  So I truly believe, if I could complete the whole 30, anyone could!

Shocking, today I decided to wear two different prints.  I can't get enough of the mixed prints!  Maybe it's my Anthropologie background.

Dress: Target
Belt: Urban Outfitters
Vest: Anthropologie
Shoes: Dolce Vita for Target
Watch: Michael Kors

I cinched in this ruffled dress with a skinny silver belt and topped the dress with this cream and white striped vest.  It's so easy to mix prints especially when there are some the same colors involved in both pieces of the outfit.  Try it!  It might feel crazy at first, but after a while you might fall in love with idea of print mixing like I have!

Finally...

Jessica Simpson finally birthed her child!!

Maxwell Drew Johnson was born today and weighed a whooping 9lbs and 13oz!  Ok ok, I'm not being judgmental because I too was a big baby.  In fact, Maxwell only beat me by 1/2 an ounce.  My poor mom!  Imagine a baby who had the biggest cheeks with enough hair for 4 babies and that was me.

Congrats to the lovely couple!  Can't wait to see pics of their bundle of joy!

Do y'all love the baby name?  I think I'm really diggin' it!
