Colorful Reunion

The hubby had his 10 year high school graduation reunion this past weekend and we had a blast!  It was so great to meet people from past that I had never met before.  We come from such different walks of life, he is from a smaller town and I am from a larger suburb. His school was so tiny compared to my 1,000+ graduating class.  I will never know what it's like to know everyone's name, let alone have a story about them all.  I know I will probably meet new people at my own reunion.  And that is hard for him to wrap his head around.

Lace and Leopard Print

The hubby has been such a blessing in my life.  I had a great lunch with him today where I really opened up to him about things that had been on my heart since our Bible study on Wednesday.  I love that he really listens and was shocked when he was thankful to me for being so open with him.  Goodness gracious, I'm one lucky girl!

Florence Welch

This morning, the hubby told me that I looked like Florence Welch.  I couldn't stop laughing because, as you can see, there is not much of a resemblance.

First Time, Hubby

Tonight the hubby and I went to our first Bible study with a new group.  We are so excited about it and have been wanting to join a good group since we got married.  Last year, our church didn't have Bible studies, just the Sunday School classes before the main service, so we feel lucky to find a church that does.  I thought they all did, but I guess not.  We are feeling blessed tonight because this group is multi-generational, giving us the opportunity to meet and have fellowship with those in different stages in life.


So since the hubby is finally home, I had him try to take some pictures of my outfit.  This is us trying to find the apartment that we are going to have the Bible study in:  I might be laughing at him because we are standing in front of the apartment of our new group!

Siete de Mayo

So the top I picked out to wear today is what I should have worn on Cinco de Mayo!

I went ultra casual today... My hubby is returning after being away for 30 DAYS!!  I spent the night getting the house cleaned up so I wouldn't go crazy with excitement, so when I woke up this morning I just really wanted to go back to bed.

These are my all time favorite Toms!  I have quite the Toms collection, but not nearly as many as my mom.  We are Toms loving family.  I realized I haven't worn them since I started to feature my daily outfits.

Toms is such a breath of fresh air in a crazy selfish corporate world.  I love that Blake thought of such a great way to give to others.  I hope more companies follow his lead.

They Fit!!

Ok so, I'm so excited about this outfit for one reason!  My little sister gave me these pants for Christmas and they didn't fit.  They wouldn't button.  Depressing, right?  Yes!  But now they fit!  I have been pushing myself so hard with my workouts and completely changed my eating habits.  It didn't happen over night, by any means.  Clearly, it's May!  Work hard and eat right, boring sounding, but so true!

Off the Beaten Path

So my hubby and I just finished the Whole 30 so I'm feeling so energized and ready to wear dresses and skirts all summer long!  I will keep eating this way because I love the way I feel!  If you haven't heard about it, read about it here. 

 I was addicted to sweets like you wouldn't believe.  Honestly, I felt like dessert is something you could have after every meal.  So I truly believe, if I could complete the whole 30, anyone could!

Shocking, today I decided to wear two different prints.  I can't get enough of the mixed prints!  Maybe it's my Anthropologie background.

I cinched in this ruffled dress with a skinny silver belt and topped the dress with this cream and white striped vest.  It's so easy to mix prints especially when there are some the same colors involved in both pieces of the outfit.  Try it!  It might feel crazy at first, but after a while you might fall in love with idea of print mixing like I have!  

Monday Ho Hum Day

I was not ready for Monday to come, can you agree?


Back into the bump and grind.


I especially wasn't ready to pick out an outfit this morning!  Don't you just hate that moment when you enter your closet and think, whose clothes are these?  I would have never picked this out?!  I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!  As I'm writing this I realize I am going to probably do that all week, four more outfits to ponder.  


Well, needless to say, I picked out an outfit and this is what I could come up with one eye open and all of my being just wanting to get back in bed!

TGIF!  This was a long week, do you agree?  I feel like I am still trying to catch up on sleep after the NYC trip!  

I love to mix prints so that's I picked out this outfit this morning.  I can't get enough of stripes and animal print!

Princess Inspired

This morning, while I was staring at my closet I must have subconsciously thought back to a photo I posted on here yesterday.

This dress reminds me of Princess Katherine Middleton.  She has such a way of showing off her waive figure without showing much at all.  I don't resemble Kate, except for the fact that I too have brunette hair, but this dress reminds me of her style.   

I bought this dress last spring from Anthropologie.  The necklace is also from Anthro, but I found an Etsy site that makes some similar styles.  They even include a single strand version of the accessory.  

When accessorizing my outfits I like to have a POC (pop of color) and I try to remember the color wheel.  Try styling your outfits with opposite colors, it's unexpected!

Calling All Brides!

So the hubby and I will be married for 2 years this coming August!  Wow!  Typing that makes it feel like it's been longer and like it just happened at the same time.




Well, planning our wedding was so much fun but picking out the dress was one of the best parts, obviously.  It seems to be getting easier, or harder depending on how you look at it, for brides to find, "The Dress."  Many stores and companies are realizing that the bridal industry is a profitable venture.


One that I will always hold dear to my heart is BHLDN.  A part of Anthropologie, this website will feature unique looks for a bride.  Some are unlike you would find at a typical bridal store.  If you are ever in Chicago or Houston, this is a must stop for singles or married women.


This is really a one stop shop.  Everything you could need for The Big Day is on the website.  You can buy your dress, shoes, decorations, invitations and the lingerie you'll wear on the honeymoon, all with a couple of clicks and a hefty credit card bill.  It's a great place to just browse for inspiration for DIY's as well.

By the looks of it, BHLDN is really planning on banking off The Great Gatsby.  I personally, cannot wait to see this movie!!  Leo, Carey, Isla and Tobey My oh my, what a stellar cast.  Let me bless with the first photo from the movie.

Thirdly, Isaac Mizrahi has also ventured back into the wedding world.  Mizrahi had his own bridal line and was once one for Target's key designers and launched their affordable wedding line, before he left for Liz Claiborne.  Well, no longer with Liz Claiborne, he decided to dip his toes in the wedding pool of bridal dresses.
