Compliment of a Lifetime

One of the highlights of my life happened this morning!  I was at the cafe at work and one of my coworkers told me that they thought I looked like....

Wait for it......

Kate Middleton!

I totally have a girl crush on the Middleton sisters, like you wouldn't believe.  When I was in my best friend's wedding last summer I was known for stating, WWPE, What Would Pippa Eat?  I wanted to rock her body at this wedding.

So when my friend, told me I looked like Catherine Middleton, I just about died.

I honestly, don't think I resemble the princess, but it did in fact make my day!

You are my Sunshine

So when I bought this tunic, it was supposed to be a dress.  I can't imagine wearing this as a dress!  I just don't like my legs enough to show that much of  them to the world.  I would feel too self conscious.

I am a big fan of the herringbone print!  I wish it was as prominent as the ever present chevron print.

Which print do you prefer?

It's Been A While

So I realize that it has been a while since I posted an outfit.  I have been running, literally running, all the time because I am training for the Dallas Marathon!  I have been hesitant to post that because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do it.  So far, so good.  I am trying to keep a balance of workouts as well as yoga and boot camp classes.  But if you have any advice, please feel free to share it with me.  The hubby thinks I'm crazy, but I want to cross something else off the good ol' bucket list and I figure now is a good time as any.

The earrings are from JewelMint and they are called the Steampunk.  They are currently sold out but you can put your self on the wait list and they will let you know when they are available again.

My necklace was a birthday gift from a friend

Thunder Up!

Okay, so I feel like this post may take a while to explain why I chose the title that I did.  The hubby is from Oklahoma and his school mascot was an Indian...  And since my dress was an Indian print and The Oklahoma City Thunder played last tonight... There you go.  That's how my random thoughts are connected.

Now you see what my husband, family and friends put up with all the time.  Random thoughts, that I too often have to explain how I end up thinking the way I do.

Isn't this the most interesting chain.  I am obsessed with whole look of the necklace.

Bye Bye Graceful.

Last week was one of my closest coworkers' last day.  She is moving on to bigger and better things, which is hard to remember when I wanted to run upstairs to tell her a funny story about nothing in particular.  I selfishly wish we could work together forever.

And my coffee will never taste the same without my barista, but while I'm crying in the inside, I know I will see her all the time!!  We be churchin' it up together all the time!

Click Your Heels

So, I have not forgotten my blog.  I need y'all to know I have stuck to my No Shop in June!  I can't believe it.  I think my friends and the hubby are even more surprised.  I am kind of enjoying forcing myself to be creative with my closet and making new outfits with what I already own.

I love me some red shoes!  I had to wear these Toms when I picked out this black and white gingham blouse.  I was inspired by my favorite girl, Dorothy.

The red Toms were Nordstrom exclusive but are no longer available but the Toms website offers them in other colors.

No Shopping this June

So completely voluntarily, I decided that I would not shop in the month of June.

I cannot believe it as I type it.  I don't think the hubby can either.

Why would I choose this?  We are so close to paying off the remainder of my student loans and I have been convicted to give more.  I just thought, the easiest way to accomplish both those things, would be to stop spending.  It sounds so obvious, but I can't count how many times I go to Target to run some errands and I walk out with a new dress and some shoes.  So really, what it comes down to, is this month I also be working on my self control.  I have everything I need really, but I just love fashion.  I will let you guys know how this goes!

So for the month of June, I will be shopping my closet.

Boy Shirts Are Cool Too!

Not too long ago, the hubby and I went to the Levi's outlet because he is addicted to Levi's!  He has found his favorite brand and there is no changing his mind now.  He sure knows how to find a good thing and stick with it :)  Love that about him!

Well, while he was picking out jeans, I found this chambray in the guys section and tried it on, and fell in love.  I love the color and the fit.  I never had tried on a guy's shirt and can't say I will now shop in the men's section, but it was something nice to add to my wardrobe.
Honestly, it would take too long to get used to buttoning my shirts, the other way.

I really piled on the accessories this morning!
I had to Instagram my arm candy while at the office this morning!

To be tan, or not be tan?

I promise, I am sunburned in these pictures.  It's so odd that I look paler than I did than I did yesterday, after spending my Memorial Day at a local pool party with some coworkers.

I pride myself on being pale, I used to be that girl who spent her free time laying out and I have visited a number of tanning salons over the years, but not anymore!
It probably helps that my husband is so dark, because I know there is no point in trying to get dark anymore.  I will never get as dark as him!

I might test out some sunless tanners in the next couple of weeks and see what it looks like to be tan without the help of the sun.  I have never really tried the at home tanners.  I did have a tan sprayed on me for my wedding, but that was almost 2 years ago and I haven't tried it since.
Do you use sunless tanners?  Which are your favorite?  What should I try first?

This morning, I was trying to figure out I could dress down this outfit to make it appropriate for work and I found this cropped hooded cardigan.  I love this thing!  I have had it for years and years.  It seems those Urban Renewal pieces are great investment pieces!

Colorful Reunion

The hubby had his 10 year high school graduation reunion this past weekend and we had a blast!  It was so great to meet people from past that I had never met before.  We come from such different walks of life, he is from a smaller town and I am from a larger suburb. His school was so tiny compared to my 1,000+ graduating class.  I will never know what it's like to know everyone's name, let alone have a story about them all.  I know I will probably meet new people at my own reunion.  And that is hard for him to wrap his head around.

Dress: Anthropologie
I bought the dress last spring, but here is one similar.

Thank you Dallas for opening that up!!

This is a completely vegan line of accessories!

You can purchase them here.

I bought it at Century 21 while I was visiting my sister in NYC.
It's basically an outlet with so much of everything!  I mean everything!!
It's a great shopping destination, if you want a good deal!

Lace and Leopard Print

The hubby has been such a blessing in my life.  I had a great lunch with him today where I really opened up to him about things that had been on my heart since our Bible study on Wednesday.  I love that he really listens and was shocked when he was thankful to me for being so open with him.  Goodness gracious, I'm one lucky girl!

Florence Welch

This morning, the hubby told me that I looked like Florence Welch.  I couldn't stop laughing because, as you can see, there is not much of a resemblance.

My POC (pop of color) was with my shoes, today.

I picked this dress so I could wear my new JewelMint earrings!

Dress: Anthropologie
Shoes: Ann Taylor
Earrings: JewelMint
Bracelets: Kendra Scott

I as the day went on, I thought about why the hubby would think I reminded him of Florence.

It's nothing about me necessarily...

It's the sleeves on my dress!

Love him so much.
