The Septmeber Issue

It's almost fall and now all the September issues of our favorite fashion magazines have filled our mailboxes.  Literally, this month's Vogue's size has been causing headaches for mailmen across the country.  If you are only going to buy one magazine issue a year, the September issue is it!

I highlight some of this month's covers:

Miley Cyrus after she announced her engagement

Victoria Beckham isn't ruling out a 5th child

Where has Gwen been?

Single Katy!

Eva Longoria

Lady Gaga

J-Lo

Sofia decided it was time to share her bra size in this issue

It's so hard to choose all these cover girls look so gorgeous!

Blake Livens it up

Blake Lively is currently making the promotional round a bouts for her new movie, Savages.

She is absolutely killing it in the wardrobe department.  I mean, seriously, she knows how to rock it in every way.

She says she does not use a stylist, but because of the wardrobe provided to her on Gossip Girl, she has the access to designer duds.

Happy Jubilee Weekend!

Queen Elizabeth is celebrating her 60th year as the queen of England this weekend.  Can you imagine having a job for that long?  This weekend is her Diamond Jubilee celebration.  The whole country will be celebrating this milestone.  How exciting!

I wanted to review some the queen's fabulous looks over the years and celebrate her most fashionable choices!

To be tan, or not be tan?

I promise, I am sunburned in these pictures.  It's so odd that I look paler than I did than I did yesterday, after spending my Memorial Day at a local pool party with some coworkers.

I pride myself on being pale, I used to be that girl who spent her free time laying out and I have visited a number of tanning salons over the years, but not anymore!
It probably helps that my husband is so dark, because I know there is no point in trying to get dark anymore.  I will never get as dark as him!

I might test out some sunless tanners in the next couple of weeks and see what it looks like to be tan without the help of the sun.  I have never really tried the at home tanners.  I did have a tan sprayed on me for my wedding, but that was almost 2 years ago and I haven't tried it since.
Do you use sunless tanners?  Which are your favorite?  What should I try first?

This morning, I was trying to figure out I could dress down this outfit to make it appropriate for work and I found this cropped hooded cardigan.  I love this thing!  I have had it for years and years.  It seems those Urban Renewal pieces are great investment pieces!

I will share how to tie a scarf like this to make a cute headband in my next post!

Colorful Reunion

The hubby had his 10 year high school graduation reunion this past weekend and we had a blast!  It was so great to meet people from past that I had never met before.  We come from such different walks of life, he is from a smaller town and I am from a larger suburb. His school was so tiny compared to my 1,000+ graduating class.  I will never know what it's like to know everyone's name, let alone have a story about them all.  I know I will probably meet new people at my own reunion.  And that is hard for him to wrap his head around.

Dress: Anthropologie
I bought the dress last spring, but here is one similar.
Belt: Anthropologie
Overlay: Anthropologie
Wedges:  Dolce Vita from the Bloomingdale's Outlet
Thank you Dallas for opening that up!!

This is a completely vegan line of accessories!

You can purchase them here.

I bought it at Century 21 while I was visiting my sister in NYC.
It's basically an outlet with so much of everything!  I mean everything!!
It's a great shopping destination, if you want a good deal!

Lace and Leopard Print

The hubby has been such a blessing in my life.  I had a great lunch with him today where I really opened up to him about things that had been on my heart since our Bible study on Wednesday.  I love that he really listens and was shocked when he was thankful to me for being so open with him.  Goodness gracious, I'm one lucky girl!

Florence Welch

This morning, the hubby told me that I looked like Florence Welch.  I couldn't stop laughing because, as you can see, there is not much of a resemblance.

My POC (pop of color) was with my shoes, today.

I picked this dress so I could wear my new JewelMint earrings!

Dress: Anthropologie
Shoes: Ann Taylor
Earrings: JewelMint
Bracelets: Kendra Scott

I as the day went on, I thought about why the hubby would think I reminded him of Florence.

It's nothing about me necessarily...

It's the sleeves on my dress!

Love him so much.

Rosey Day

Boy this week has flown!  Yesterday I had to rush over to our Bible study after an interesting Zumba class.  I haven't taken Zumba in a while but this class was a much slower pace then I remember.  I wanted to sweat and feel like I was a part of a Beyonce music video.  Needless to say, it was nothing like that.  I felt like I was a part of a workout video from the 90's.

Dress: Boutique in Lubbock
Boots: Urban Outfitters

Purple Bracelet: Alexis Bittar

What workouts are you doing to get ready for summer?

Hopefully, they are more successful then mine yesterday!

Summer of Sight

Tom's Sunglasses has launched a summer campaign called, "Summer of Sight."  The goal for this campaign to provide sight for 100,000 people by the time the summer vacation ends and the school years begins.  As of now, they have sold 40,000 sunglasses.  Only 60,000 more!

It's summer time and the perfect excuse for some new shades while you are taking in the summer rays laying out, enjoying an outdoor concert and catching up with friends over a patio lunch!

When you shop, you give!  It's guilt free shopping!

For every pair of sunglasses purchased, a person's vision is restored.

Be a part of something bigger than yourself by giving others something we easily take for granted.

This is the hubby and I on our trip sportin' out Tom's shades.
He's wearing the Kigali and I am wearing the Lhasa.

The hubby and I both have purchased a pair but I'm itchin' to buy another!

I have never found a pair of aviator sunglasses that I like on my face, but I don't just like... I love the way the Tom's look!  I think this may be my first pair and my next purchase!

This picture breaks downn thier significant look.

Brunch Date

The hubby and I went to brunch at our favorite place today.  It's located in the Bishop Arts District in the Dallas area.  If you ever come to Dallas, this is where you need eat!  It offers all local favorites!

I talked about Oddfellows last week, and this weekend we found that him being home was reason enough to visit our favorite brunch site.

Because of the rain the night before, it was a chilly Saturday morning forcing me to bust out a long sleeve shirt I hadn't worn since the fall season.
